Wheel Dyno

Got a guy with a new wheel dyno who will come to the dragstrip and give us 3 pulls for $60.00. So, who would be interested?

Re: Wheel Dyno

I'm up for a dyno run. Haven't had a chance to do anything different to the Z since my last dyno, but I would like to see how the two mach up.If you get some interest in doing the dyno will there be any trophy possibilities for this event?

Well now there's a thought. Trophy for most HP. I like the way you think. 8)

trophy for most HP per cylinder is more fair... some of the older Z guys have those v8's you know.

Re: Wheel Dyno

If my cars done I would like to see where it's at on the stock motor un-tuned it was 521 WHP on a Mustang Dyno and 558 WHP with old heads (no cams or port work) and Dyno Jet hoping for low to mid 600s unless it's a Dyno-Jet then 700+ HERE I COME!!!! VG30DETT FTW!

If Ray's white Z32 is done we should see some really big numbers!!

no offense, but I'm guessing most Z32 TT's would have more power that some older v8's, save for the modified ones running 10's =-)

on a diff. note,
i think this would be a very welcome addition the the BZF activities, trophy or not!
Plus, i can avoid breaking my car as badly, and have a good reason to get my ride tuned. also good to not eliminate my expensive tires, 550 miles from home..

i am pretty excited about this. count me in!

Re: Wheel Dyno

If you guys get enough interest in the dyno and you do decide to do the trophy why not break down the cars in categories like the car show. That way you don't have a 3oozx N/A competing with a 350,370,and TT. Then instead of a best of show have a trophy for most HP. Just an idea that I wanted to throw out there, and just to let you know I plan on doing the dyno whether there are trophies or not. 8)

Re: Wheel Dyno

Still waiting for the guy to get back from a cruise, so no more information yet. I would say for this first year, there's probably only going to be one trophy, but we'll see.

yeah most TT's... you have NA's, 350z's... etc etc.... I know my Z won't have more horse power than a V8.....

Multiple trophies = more price... I guess it all depends....

Re: Wheel Dyno

I am all about the dyno, but have one that I use quite frequently at home after I do upgrades and the like. I'm sort of obessive about it even, dynoing after each and every upgrade on the same dyno.

I would dyno my car down there if need to be get people doing it, but I'm not going to fight for a space if it's booked up. I have known the WHP of every car I've owned, save a few of the beaters... but, even some of those. :p

I dont know I just dynoed my Z on a Mustang Dyno here and there was only a difference of 2 hp from my Dyno-Jet dyno at SpecialtyZ. I just think the Mustang has more variables to mess with... and Sublime plays with their numbers making them low.

I'd do it. If nothing else it makes for a great event people can watch.
